Sound more native.Speak with greater control.

One-to-one coaching in Wrocław for executives, public speakers, actors and professionals who want their English to sound more natural, precise and deliberate.

Whether you want to reduce the influence of your native accent, develop a British accent, prepare for high-stakes speaking or refine the way you sound in public, the work begins with your individual voice.

Positioning

Native-like does not mean losing your voice.

You already speak English. Vocabulary, grammar and fluency may be entirely in place — and still the pronunciation, rhythm or accent may not quite reflect how you want to be heard.

Sounding more native is not a demand that you become someone else. It is the work of developing the features that make spoken English feel natural and effortless to listeners:

  • Vowel and consonant systems
  • Word stress
  • Sentence stress
  • Rhythm
  • Intonation
  • Connected speech
  • Reductions and weak forms
  • Voice quality
  • Speech timing
  • First-language influence
  • Accent-specific features
  • Phrasing and emphasis

Your English is already strong. Now refine the way it is heard.

The aim is not to erase your identity or force you into a single model of English. It is to give you more control over the signals your speech sends — so that you can sound more natural, more precise and more at ease when it matters.

Coaching paths

Three directions. One individual programme.

The path is chosen with you, not applied as a template. The first session maps your voice and the work begins at once.

Sound more native

Make your English feel more natural.

For advanced speakers who want to reduce the influence of their native accent and develop more natural English pronunciation, rhythm, stress and connected speech.

  • Natural vowel and consonant production
  • Word and sentence stress
  • Weak forms and reductions
  • Linking and connected speech
  • Intonation and speech rhythm
  • Polish-to-English patterns, where relevant
Develop a British accent

Choose the British English you want to speak.

For clients who want to develop a convincing Standard Southern British accent — contemporary RP — or another clearly defined British accent.

  • Standard Southern British / contemporary RP
  • Vowel quality, consonant detail and linking
  • Intonation associated with the target accent
  • Suitable for executives, speakers and performers
  • Personal or professional reasons for a British accent
  • A target named in the first session
Master a specific accent or dialect

British English has never been just one accent.

For clients who need or want to reproduce a particular regional or social variety of British English. Accent selection is deliberate, not arbitrary.

  • London / Estuary English
  • Yorkshire
  • Geordie
  • Scouse
  • West Country, Scottish or Welsh English
  • Other clearly defined British varieties
High-stakes speaking

When your voice is part of the performance.

Pronunciation coaching can be shaped around the moments in which your voice is especially visible or consequential. The work is not acting training, unless you are specifically preparing an accent or a role.

Keynote presentations Conference talks Investor pitches Interviews Media appearances Leadership communication Public lectures Auditions Rehearsals Filmed or recorded performance Important meetings Negotiations

The coaching can address not only individual sounds, but also pacing, emphasis, phrasing, vocal energy, intonation, clarity under pressure, natural delivery and consistency across longer stretches of speech.

  • Pacing
  • Emphasis
  • Phrasing
  • Vocal energy
  • Intonation
  • Clarity under pressure
  • Natural delivery
  • Consistency over time

Not clock time

Sessions last no longer than 50 minutes. If the voice or attention is exhausted after 30 minutes, the session ends there. You are paying for a result, not for 50 minutes on the clock. Continuing when exhausted is typically counterproductive.

Homework is part of the fee

This does not happen without dedication. You will be sent homework and recordings of the coach’s voice. You send three recordings of your own each week — not for grading or a written reply, but so the work can be monitored.

Cancellation

Same-day cancellation is not possible. Absence without notice by the previous calendar day is charged at 300. Each five sessions include one complimentary cancellation or reschedule, with prior notice — never on the same day.

Method

A programme built around you.

There is no generic pronunciation syllabus, because no two speakers have the same pronunciation profile. The work is analytical, practical and cumulative.

  1. 01

    Map

The first session is recorded. Your current vowels and consonants are written out on the IPA spectrum, and the sounds that need work are named.

  2. 02

    Begin

Accent work starts in that same session, immediately after the assessment. There is no waiting for a later lesson.

  3. 03

    Train

The coaching targets high-impact sounds in your own speech — not a generic accent template.

  4. 04

    Practise

You receive homework and recordings of the coach’s voice. You send three recordings of your own each week, for accountability and monitoring — not for grading.

  5. 05

    Update

Your personal PDF training plan is reviewed and updated throughout. Recordings continue in every session.

The fee covers the sessions, the plan, the homework and the listening in between. It is not payment for minutes on a clock. A tired voice is stopped; the work is continued when it can still take.

Why this work

Not another English lesson.

This is not a language school, a conversation class or general English tuition. It is private specialist coaching in how English sounds.

A senior executive preparing a keynote, an actor preparing a role, and an advanced Polish speaker seeking more natural everyday English may all need completely different work. Each programme is built around existing speech, first-language influence, professional or performance context, goals and target accent.

Sessions are one-to-one and conducted in person at a private coaching location in Wrocław. Exact location details are provided when an appointment is arranged.

  • IndividualYour vowels and consonants, mapped — never a group syllabus.
  • ResultYou pay for a change in the voice, not for 50 minutes of clock time.
  • HomeworkThree recordings a week, a living PDF plan, and the coach’s own voice as a model.
  • In personOne-to-one in Wrocław. A private practice, not a classroom.
The coach

Alexander Gaskell

A British native English speaker, based in Wrocław, working with advanced speakers who want greater control over how they sound.

The practice combines experience as an English language educator with specialist work in pronunciation, accent and spoken delivery. The coaching is individual, analytical and practical — closer to private voice work than to a lesson.

The coach speaks Polish. That is particularly useful when working with Polish speakers: the phonetic differences between Polish and English, and the patterns that transfer from one language into the other, can be addressed with precision rather than guesswork.

Clients come to develop more native-like English, a British accent, a specific regional accent, professional speaking preparation, or accent work for performance and acting.

The first session

We record you. Then we begin.

The first session is not a trial lesson, and it is not sold separately. It is the opening of the programme: a recording of your speech, a written map of your current vowels and consonants on the IPA spectrum, and a clear view of what needs work.

  • A recording of your speech
  • Your vowels and consonants written out on the IPA spectrum
  • The high-impact sounds that will change how you come across
  • Accent work begins in the same session, immediately after the assessment
  • Recordings continue throughout the programme
  • Your personal PDF training plan is opened and then kept under review

There is no separate assessment to book. You enquire, a five- or ten-session programme is arranged, and the work starts in session one.

Session one

Assessment, then accent — in the same hour.

Recordings throughout. Homework from the first week.

Questions

In plain terms.

Do I need to speak advanced English already?

The coaching is designed primarily for people who already communicate comfortably in English and want to refine pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, accent or delivery. If you are still developing general English, another type of course may be more appropriate.

What does “sounding more native” mean?

It means developing pronunciation, rhythm, stress, intonation and connected speech that sound more natural to fluent English listeners. It does not mean erasing your identity or pretending to be someone else.

Is this accent reduction or accent acquisition?

It can be either, depending on your goals. Some clients want to reduce the influence of their first language. Others want to develop a British accent or a specific regional variety. The direction is named in the first session, when your speech is recorded and mapped.

Will I lose my identity or natural voice?

No. The aim is to give you more control over how you sound, not to remove your personality. You decide how far you want to take the work.

Can I learn a specific British accent?

Yes, where the target is clearly defined and appropriate for your goals. The target accent is named in the first session.

Can you help me prepare for a presentation or public speech?

Yes. Coaching can focus on pronunciation, phrasing, emphasis, pacing, intonation and clarity for a specific presentation or speaking event.

Do you work with actors and performers?

Yes. Coaching can support accent and dialect preparation for auditions, roles, rehearsals and performances. The work is focused on the requested accent or speech requirements.

Do you work with Polish speakers?

Yes. The coach speaks Polish and understands many of the phonetic differences and pronunciation patterns that can affect Polish speakers of English.

Are sessions online?

The primary service is delivered in person in Wrocław. Online coaching is not the default format. If a limited online arrangement is appropriate, it can be discussed when you enquire.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place in person at the coach’s private coaching location in Wrocław. Exact location details are provided when arranging an appointment.

How long does accent coaching take?

The programmes are five or ten sessions. In five sessions, with homework and dedication, the realistic aim is to change two or three high-impact sounds — enough to alter how you come across in English. That is not a promise that you will sound native. Ten sessions give more time to consolidate and to go further.

Do you provide work between sessions?

Yes. You receive homework and recordings of the coach’s voice. You send three recordings of your own each week. These are not graded and do not come with a written reply; they exist so the work can be monitored. Your personal PDF training plan is updated throughout.

Do I need to commit to a programme?

Yes. Coaching is arranged as five sessions or ten. There is no drop-in hour and no separate assessment to buy first. The first session is the opening of the programme you have chosen.

What happens in the first session?

You are recorded. The coach writes out your current vowels and consonants on the IPA spectrum and determines what needs work. Accent work then begins immediately, in that same session. Recordings continue throughout the programme.

How much does coaching cost?

Five sessions cost 1 800 zł. Ten sessions cost 3 000 zł. The fee is for the result of the work — sessions, plan, homework and monitoring — not for minutes on a clock.

Can my employer pay for the coaching?

Yes, if appropriate. An invoice or a short employer-facing outline of the work can be provided on request.

How long is a session?

No longer than 50 minutes. This is not time-based coaching. If your voice or attention is exhausted after 30 minutes, the session ends there. You are paying for a result, not for clock time. Continuing when exhausted is typically counterproductive.

What homework is expected?

The change does not happen without homework and dedication. You will be sent homework and recordings of the coach’s voice. You send three recordings of your own each week. These are not graded and do not come with a written reply; they exist so the work can be monitored and so you remain accountable.

What is the cancellation policy?

The coach prepares your sessions, records for you, works on your training plan and listens to your recordings. Same-day cancellation is not possible. If you do not attend and have not given notice by the previous calendar day, a fee of 300 zł is charged. Each five sessions include one complimentary cancellation or reschedule, with prior notice only — never on the same day.

Do I receive a certificate?

A certificate of completion may be issued on request.

How do I book?

On the booking page: choose a five- or ten-session programme, then an open Wednesday or Thursday slot. Pay for the whole course, send confirmation to the email address given, and you will hear back. The session is booked when payment is confirmed.

Write with a little context.

A short note is enough. The more clearly you can describe the situation — a presentation, a role, a professional context, a particular accent — the more useful the first reply can be.
